About New Life

Solid Reputation, Lasting Results

For more than three decades, New Life Addiction Counseling & Mental Health Services in Pasadena, Maryland, has been changing lives. A co-occurring disorders center, we provide treatment tailored to strengthen those who are struggling with substance abuse, drug and alcohol addiction while addressing the mental health issues that can contribute to the addiction.
Our proven reputation comes from treating more than just those issues, though; we treat the entire person. By offering a variety of treatment tactics—from outpatient group therapy and 12-step program recommendations to medication-assisted treatment (MAT)—we help patients explore their behaviors, identify challenges, and develop a healthy, clean and sober lifestyle. With impeccable coordination of care, patients can maintain recovery and be the person they were meant to be.
About New Life ACS

Our Foundation

Founded in 1984 by Thomas Porter, New Life’s commitment to patient care has never wavered. From the start, Tom’s compassion for people with addictions was quickly recognized by the treatment team at Hidden Brook in Bel Air, Maryland, where he began his professional career. With that, Tom was encouraged to launch an outpatient aftercare program in Dundalk, and soon after, he and his team also opened programs in Anne Arundel, Wicomico and Carroll counties. The philosophies put into practice—first by Tom, then by his daughter Beverly Ervin, both surrounded by a dedicated team—have stood the test of time.
